Overview

The Artists Marketplace is a curated membership platform designed for Professional and Semi-Professional artists to showcase their work, build visibility, and receive enquiries from collectors and galleries.
We do not operate as a traditional online shop, and the Platform does not sell artworks directly, except where exclusively offered to Diamond-tier artists through an optional, invitation-based e-commerce service.

All artists retain full ownership of their work and manage their own communication, pricing, and sales outside the Platform unless otherwise arranged under Diamond membership.

1. Membership-Based Services

The Artists Marketplace provides:

  • Artist portfolio hosting

  • Visibility and promotional features

  • Lead-generation tools

  • Priority placement (tier-dependent)

  • Spotlight and editorial features (Ruby & Diamond)

  • Diamond-level representation and monthly promotional hours

  • Optional e-commerce hosting for Diamond members (approval required)

Memberships are subscription-based and renew automatically unless cancelled.

2. No Commission on Sales

The Artists Marketplace does not take commission on any artwork sales resulting from enquiries through the Platform.
All standard members manage their own sales, payment processing, fulfilment, shipping, and aftercare independently.

Diamond e-commerce hosting, where approved, may be subject to separate terms.

3. Artwork Listings and Accuracy

Artists are responsible for ensuring that:

  • All images are original and rights-owned

  • Artwork details are accurate

  • Pricing (where displayed) is correct and up to date

  • Descriptions, materials and sizes are honest and clear

  • Removed artworks are taken down promptly

The Artists Marketplace may remove listings that do not meet quality or professional standards.

4. Enquiries and Communication

Collectors and galleries contact artists directly through:

  • A secure enquiry form

  • An email link

  • External website or portfolio links supplied by the artist

The Artists Marketplace is not a party to communication, negotiation, sale, refunds or disputes between artists and collectors.

5. Payment Processing (Diamond E-Commerce Only)

Standard members:

  • All payments occur privately between artist and buyer.

Diamond members (optional hosting):

  • Payments may be processed through The Artists Marketplace on a case-by-case basis

  • Additional terms apply

  • Approval of artworks is required before listing

The Artists Marketplace retains the right to decline artworks for e-commerce hosting.

6. Refund Policy

All membership payments are non-refundable.
If you cancel, your membership remains active until the end of the current billing cycle.

Refunds for artwork purchases are not handled by The Artists Marketplace, as all sales occur directly between the artist and the buyer unless otherwise agreed under Diamond hosting.

7. Shipping (Diamond E-Commerce Only)

For standard members:

  • All shipping is arranged privately between artist and buyer.

  • The Artists Marketplace holds no responsibility for packaging, delivery, damage or delays.

For Diamond-hosted sales:

  • Shipping expectations will be outlined separately

  • Artists remain responsible for packaging and dispatch

8. Returns & Exchanges

The Artists Marketplace does not manage returns or exchanges.
These are managed directly between the artist and buyer for all standard memberships.

Diamond-hosted e-commerce transactions may include specific return rules, agreed on a per-artist basis.

9. Artist Conduct & Removal

We reserve the right to remove artworks or profiles that:

  • Do not meet quality standards

  • Breach copyright

  • Include inappropriate content

  • Misrepresent the artwork

  • Compromise the platform’s curated environment

Memberships may be paused or terminated where necessary.

10. Intellectual Property

Artists retain all copyright.
By submitting work, you grant The Artists Marketplace permission to display, promote and feature your artworks on the Platform and in marketing content.
This licence is non-exclusive and can be revoked by removing the artwork.

11. Service Limitations

While The Artists Marketplace supports visibility and promotion, we do not guarantee:

  • Sales

  • Enquiries

  • Press features

  • Exhibitions

  • Media coverage

All promotional services, including Diamond representation, operate on a best-effort basis.

RETURNS

How It Works

We offer a 14 day return window for all original artworks purchased from The Artists Marketplace, provided the piece is returned in its original condition.  

This returns policy only applies to items delivered to addresses within the United Kingdom. International orders are final sale only due to varied import/export laws.

 

Return Shipping Procedures

Items must be repackaged very carefully to avoid damage using original shipping materials if possible. We provide instructions for eligible returns upon request. Return shipping costs are the responsibility of the buyer. 

 

Once the intact return shipment arrives at our facilities, it undergoes inspection by our verification team. Provided no damage or other issues are found, a full refund is issued within 5-7 business days.  

 

Exchanges

If instead of a return, you wish to exchange your artwork for a comparable piece of equal or higher value, we can accommodate exchanges as well. Simply get in touch with our support team within 14 days of receiving your original shipment. Additional shipping fees may apply if the exchange incurs higher delivery costs.

 

Refunds & Damages

For refund eligibility, pieces must be returned in their original condition showing no signs of damage or other quality issues. In the rare case of items arriving damaged or defective, please contact us immediately with photos so we can resolve the situation in a fair manner on a case-by-case basis.

PACKAGING, SHIPPING

Domestic and International

Welcome to The Artists Marketplace! When purchasing original artworks from our online shop, the following shipping policy applies: 

 

Artwork Retention

All artwork remains with the artist until your payment has been successfully processed. Once payment clears, your purchase is collected by The Artists Marketplace and will be carefully packaged and dispatched for shipping. All packaging and shipping is handled by The Artists Marketplace. We professionally pack artworks in sturdy boxes with plenty of cushioning to prevent damage during transit. Due to partnerships with various global courier services, you may be presented with different shipping options at checkout. Before finalizing the shipping method, we recommend checking the delivery estimate and tracking services included.

 

Ship-To Regions

We ship internationally, excluding destinations facing economic sanctions or trade restrictions. During checkout, enter your address to confirm we ship to your location. 

 

Shipping Costs & Delivery Estimates 

Shipping costs are calculated based on item size, weight, and destination country. All quoted rates are displayed during checkout.

 

We typically ship international orders within 2-3 business days.

UK deliveries usually take <5 business days.

Europe deliveries average <15 business days.

International deliveries typically average <20 business days. Customs fees & import taxes may also apply. Delivery times for international orders can vary depending on the destination country and shipping method. We typically ship international orders within 2-3 business days, but please allow up to 4 weeks for delivery.

 

Tracked Shipping 

All shipments are sent via tracked shipping services so you can follow your package’s progress. Tracking numbers will be provided after dispatch.  

 

Packaging & Insurance 

We professionally package artworks to prevent damage in transit. All shipments are insured for the full declared value.

 

Damages & Returns 

In the very unlikely event your package arrives with damage, please contact us within 48 hours so we can determine the cause and best solution on a case-by-case basis. Learn more in our Returns & Exchanges policy.
