This is a drawing of the sun on a beautiful day in November 2021 on Arches hot press paper. The location is one of my favourite spots here in Hastings-the East Hill - where glorious everchanging skies alter the appearance of the landscape minute by minute. I love capturing the beauty of light in both pencil and oil paint, with pencil allowing me to focus purely on the tonal changes the sun creates in the landscape around me.
