In the Company of Silence is a calming original oil painting of a Barn owl's successful hunt for a small vole above the flowering cow parsley of the North Devon fields. The painting was made using numerous layers of highly pigmented oil paint on a hand stretched and triple primed canvas.
 
These magical creatures have silky soft comb-like feathers that dampen the sounds of airflow caused by the beating of their powerful wings. This means that their flight is almost silent and their sudden swooping appearances often imperceptible to prey.
